EfCCNa's new Member Society from Latvia

During the EfCCNa Council meeting in Tallinn, Estonia, the Latvian Association of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Nurses applied for a membership in EfCCNa. Linda Fridenberga together with her colleague Olga Cerela presented some interesting information about Critical Care nursing in Latvia and especially about their society. At present, there are 574 nurses in Latvia with the certification "Anesthesia and Intensive Care Nurse." Out of these 574 nurses, 192 (33.5%) are members of the Latvian Association of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Nurses.

The Council accepted the bid and welcomed Latvia as the 33 member in the federation.

Latvia's representative in the EfCCNa Council - Olga Cerela
Olga worked as an Anesthesia and Intensive Care Nurse at Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital. From 2020 to 2024, she served as the Head Nurse of the Anesthesiology Department at Riga Maternity Hospital. In 2021, she became the head of the Latvian Association of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Nurses.
She has got a Master's degree in Health Sciences and currently, she is a second-year doctoral student at Riga Stradins University.
