New Council member from Spain

I am Cecilia and I have been working as an intensive care nurse at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona for more than 20 years. I have a PhD in nursing from the University of Barcelona. Researching patient empowerment to help reduce Post ICU syndrome. In addition, I teach at the University of Barcelona in both undergraduate and master's programs in intensive care nursing and member of working groups to improve the quality and safety of critical patient care.

EfCCNa welcomes new representative for Iceland - Hrönn Birgisdottir

 
Hrönn is a clinical nurse specialist in critical care nursing and is beginning her PhD study in nursing. Her focus is on quality and quality indicators. She works in a mixed intensive care unit at the Landspitali University Hospital, one of three intensive care units in Iceland. She has 22 years of experience working in Intensive care and has been teaching at the University of Iceland both in bachelor's and master's programs in intensive care nursing.

New representative of the Czech Republic - Mario Pytel

I am soldier/nurse working for the field hospital in the Czech Republic and have been to missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and naval mission Mediterranean.
When I'm not engaged in the army, I mostly work in the ICU at the University hospital in Brno as a critical care specialist.
I am a member of the presidium and the intensive care section committee and hold a Master's degree in management. This semester I started teaching in the faculty of the Master's program for critical care nurses. Additionally I am involved in working groups which are dealing with education and competences under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.

The Czech Association of Nurses is an expert, professional, volunteer, non-profit and non-political organization with legal subjectivity. It is the largest professional organization of nurses and other health care professionals in the Czech Republic. It is open to all nurses and other health care professionals regardless of their nationality or religion, working in health care, social care, education and in the private sector. The seat of the Association is Prague and representative is Mario Pytel.
